Film Society is full of ambitious storytellers and film lovers; my goal is to ensure the opportunities around them are just as bold. 

Our community spans all levels of availability and experience. To support this, I’ll launch a mentorship program connecting beginners with experienced peers, alumni, and industry professionals, while organising practical and theoretical workshops on equipment usage, filmmaking roles, and screenwriting to help everyone gain skills, build confidence, and participate both creatively and socially.

The studio can be difficult to navigate. I am currently rebuilding procedures with the support of the Media Department and will introduce a renewed booking system, termly studio tours, inductions, and updated video tutorials to increase structure. This craft is demanding enough as it is — accessing and maintaining the tools shouldn’t be.

Collaboration, visibility, and accessibility are key to our future. By forming a committed marketing team and expanding the promotion of Affiliate and Term films through our social media, podcast, and journal, I aim to forge a stronger pathway into the industry. With this increased reach, I will collaborate with external venues and other societies, leading to exciting joint events and productions featured in our new monthly newsletter, with live captions and audio descriptions.

Film is a beautiful medium meant for everyone. Let’s tear down the barriers that keep people from making and enjoying movies; anyone can cook!
