As chief editor of the Rendezvous, I not only will continuously strive to maintain the excellent standard of content that the paper is already known for but will also create my own individuality by establishing continuity throughout the paper. As a writer for the North American and Canada region, I've developed a perspective of how to effectively run the paper by creating concrete deadlines, communicating feedback, and synthesizing the columnist's visions with the overall theme of the issue. Through positions such as being the Chair of a Junior Commission on the Status of Women in my county as well as interning as a reproductive rights data intern, I've gained qualities like time management, successfully unifying ideas, and adding a creative touch, all key to executing this paper. These roles enabled me to design signage, plan and lead monthly group meetings including discussions, and to create my vision of education and empowerment of teenagers in my community. For the paper, my vision is to create more tangible themes for each issue, allowing each article to have individuality and embody the culture of its region, while also aiding the reader to trace the continuities and differences of different topics between the regions. This vision is important to me because as an international student, viewing the cultural distinctions between the UK and the US has been fascinating and a practice I would like to translate into a wider goal of the paper and empower readers to explore.
