Ares Dafas

Hi everyone! My name is Ares, I’m a Theoretical Physics student at UCL and I’m running to be a VC Fund Director for UCL Entrepreneurs.

I’m very interested in venture capital, startups and the process of turning strong ideas into real businesses. Being involved in the society’s partner events and hackathons, including winning the BrainHacQ Hackathon, has shown me how lucky we are to have such an extensive startup network at UCL and how much potential student founders have.

I have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which are essential when evaluating ideas, understanding risk and identifying promising opportunities. Alongside this, I’ve held leadership roles in school societies which have helped me build communication and teamwork skills when working in groups and organising projects.

If elected, I’d love to contribute to the VC Fund team by: 

1. Helping to increase publicity for exciting student startups.
2. Supporting existing founders to strengthen their bond with UCL entrepreneurs
3. Playing my part helping grow the society’s venture ecosystem.
