Election post
Hi everyone!
I'm Yahali, a current Global Markets Executive at the EFS. I study Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Data Science, and I'm running for Director of Economics because I believe economics only makes sense when you understand what surrounds it.
Too often, our events feel disconnected from what we're actually studying. As Director, I want to change that:
- Fireside chats with purpose: targeting policymakers, central bankers, and researchers whose work you're already encountering in your modules, bringing your lectures to life.
- Economic policy debates: structured, student-led discussions on live issues, from fiscal policy to the economics of AI, where you make the argument.
- Consulting workshops: demystifying economic consulting as a career, with practitioners walking through real briefs and methodologies.
- Cross-society programming: partnering with politics, tech, and data science groups to run events that reflect how economics actually operates in the real world.
- A live economics tracker: a termly session where we dissect one major real-world economic event together, from data to decision, as it unfolds.
EFS already sets an incredibly high bar. My goal is to make the Economics division feel like the intellectual heartbeat of that, where what you learn in the room on a Tuesday evening genuinely sharpens how you think in a lecture on Wednesday morning.
Let's build an Economics division that makes your degree richer.
Vote Yahali!
