I've been writing for The Cheese Grater Magazine for 2 years (crikey) now, and I owe so much to this publication and society for my personal development and sense of purpose in this stupid chungus university.

In my time as the editor for the Investigations and Humour sections, the publication has seen considerable growth in both these areas (shoutout to James and Holly). Our social media receives more interaction than ever before, we have published record breaking quantities of articles, and our quality of articles has certainly gone up as well - let our many many nominations in the SPAs be a testament to this.

So, what would I do????

  • Continue to hold the powers that be to account: The Cheese Grater has always been a publication with the core mission to give those who are wronged or marginalised a voice to stand up to authority, and to continue this ultimately is my most important goal.
  • Pushing alternative mediums: I would like to publish more short form video investigations on social media, as well as continuing and improving our Grater Insights podcast.
  • Start a correspondents system: To allow more non-editor reporters to take on more responsibility, I would like to set up correspondents. These roles would be non-committee, non-editorial roles in which people would organise reporters for specific topics, and lead on its reporting.

It's been an absolute pleasure being in this society, and it would be my honour to succeed a long list of people I Grately admire as EIC.
