Charlotte Hansford

Hi everyone! I’m Charlotte, a second-year Biomedical Sciences student and Senior Women’s rower, and I’m running for Treasurer this year 🩵💜

As Treasurer, a big part of the role is keeping the club running smoothly behind the scenes -  making sure our coaches and external services are paid on time, budgeting for races and events, and applying for grants that help support the club throughout the year. Essentially, making sure the numbers add up so we can all keep rowing 🤩

If elected, I’ll make sure these responsibilities are handled reliably and on time. I’ll also prioritise looking for sponsorship and grant opportunities to help keep rowing as affordable and accessible as possible for everyone! 😆

In terms of experience, I’ve organised STEM events for younger students at school, which involved planning, budgeting, and coordinating with others. As a STEM student, I’m very comfortable working with numbers and Excel spreadsheets, and I’m also naturally very organised. I genuinely enjoy a good spreadsheet (and I promise they’ll look a lot better than my ergs 🫣).

Most importantly, I really care about this club and the community we’ve built here. I’d take the responsibility of Treasurer seriously and work closely with the rest of committee to help keep everything running smoothly.

Thank you for considering me as your next UCLBC Treasurer! 🩵💜
