Election post
I’m standing for Social Secretary because weekly badminton sessions are a great way for members to stay active, enjoy the sport, and meet others in the club. For many members who are not playing competitively, these sessions provide a relaxed and welcoming environment where people can improve their skills, try out a new sport, or simply come along for some exercise and to socialise with others who enjoy badminton.
As Social Secretary, I would love to help make these weekly sessions enjoyable, well-organised, and accessible to everyone who attends. Alongside the regular social badminton sessions, I would also be interested in organising beginner-friendly tournaments for members who enjoy a bit of competition but may not be part of the competitive team. These events could give more members the opportunity to challenge themselves while still keeping the atmosphere fun, inclusive, and supportive.
Overall, I would love the opportunity to contribute to the club and help make the social side of badminton even more enjoyable for everyone. I would work closely with the rest of the committee to ensure sessions run smoothly and that everyone feels welcome. I would also be open to feedback from members and happy to hear suggestions for new ideas or improvements so that the club continues to reflect what people enjoy and want to see.
