Yash Narain

From the Godfather of AI to Google DeepMind, UCL built the AI industry from the ground up.

But while Imperial, LSE and Oxford move forward, we’re losing our edge. I’m bringing my experience from Microsoft, IBM, and UCL to ensure you have the tools, the industry connections, and the community to actually lead this field, not just follow it.

My manifesto focuses on reshaping opportunities. As UCL’s Student AI Advisor, I'll help you shape two tiers of free resources: universal access to high-performance models and the UK’s first AI Champion program for advanced agent development. I will bridge the gap between UCL’s developers and students, allowing you to build real-world use cases and lead our AI Policy in a rapidly changing world.

I'll leverage my network to create unique opportunities. Beyond my roles at IBM and Microsoft, I'm securing bespoke SME workshops, exclusive AI competitions, and industry design tools. We will move beyond simple networking to high-impact hackathons that build your CV and open doors usually closed to students.

AI is a societal shift, not just a computational one. I'll lead a society that connects every faculty, from art to philosophy, grounding technical innovation in the ethical discourse defining our world. From securing exclusive access to global AI summits to building cross-disciplinary tools, I’ll ensure your voice shapes the future.

We have the history; now let’s build the legacy. Let’s stop watching the future happen and start building it together.

Karim Obegi

Hi! I'm Karim, a first year computer science student. I am nominating myself for Head of Development because I'm really excited about helping and develop the technical side of the society. I really enjoy working on projects and exploring new ideas in AI, and I think this is a great opportunity for students to learn by building things together. I hope to create a collaborative environment where members can work on interesting AI projects and share what they build with the society. I'd also love to organise development projects where students can experiment, learn new tools, and grow their technical skills together.
