Election post
Te dashun anetare,
When I nominated myself for General Secretary, some of my main visions and objectives were to strengthen social cohesion within our community and create more spaces for the Albanian diaspora to connect at UCL.
Throughout the past year, I have been committed to fulfilling these promises and have worked hard to:
• Assist in planning key social events, including Galentine’s and other community gatherings, to mobilise and encourage engagement
• Organise and chair committee meetings, finding suitable dates to ensure participation.
• Send encouraging, inclusive emails to boost attendance and reassure hesitant members.
• Push for more frequent social events to strengthen belonging within our society.
These actions show that when I commit, I follow through. That is why I am standing for Treasurer.
Our finances are what allow our ideas to become a reality. As Treasurer, I would take full responsibility for budgeting and financial planning, while working closely with the President to take our plans further than they have ever gone before.
Next year, I will continue pushing for even more culturally engaging events, backed by the finances that I will work hard to grow and invest in our growing society. This will mean setting clear budgets and exploring new funding opportunities, with no increase in our membership fees.
Ultimately, as Treasurer, my priority will be to protect our pockets while giving back more to our members.
Gjithe te mirat,
Erna Doda
