Election post
Hey I'm Alex, I joined Magic Soc at the start of this year, as a fresher, and the society has been a big part of my uni experience so far! I have really enjoyed getting to know new people through the sessions, and being part of a small, close-knit community. From Jason showing me a trick at the Welcome Fair, to actually performing myself to an audience, I have loved the society, the people and the whole experience, and I would love to be able to aid and provide this opportunity to future members - however familiar they are to magic! My attendance throughout the year has allowed me to observe the roles of the committee and learn the way in which the society is run. This. alongside my previous leadership experience of being concert master for an orchestra, has prepared me for this role, building on my leadership and teamworking skills. If I had the opportunity to be President next year, I would enjoy the challenge of making it more diverse and trying my best to follow in Jason's footsteps, with continuing and growing the range of socials, the workshops and the talks with external magicians. I would love the opportunity to connect with more people, whilst giving back to the society that is shaping my time at UCL!
