Election post
Hey everyone! My name is Lianne, a second-year Biomedical Sciences student and this year’s Vice President :) Over the past year, I’ve helped organise a range of events, including pub crawls, a PhDs and pizzas session, a Summer Internship panel, and a Healthcare Consulting panel. I’ve loved working with the committee to bring these to life and I’m committed to keeping our society active and engaging if I'm your next President!
If elected, I’ll introduce exciting new initiatives for everyone. I’ll continue organising creative monthly academic and social events to help students connect with industry professionals, explore Life Science careers, and meet new people. I’ll also work to finally launch our long-awaited Life Science merchandise – potentially collaborating with the Biosciences department to feature the official UCL logo! Plus, I’d love to introduce a family system to strengthen support and community across year groups.
I also believe my leadership experiences make me a great fit for this role. In addition to serving as Vice President of LSS, I’m an Events Executive for the Impact Careers Society and Welfare Officer of Knitting Society this year. Previously, I was Programme Director of a school camp and Vice President of my high school’s student council. These experiences have sharpened my event-organising, communication and teamwork skills that I’m eager to apply to LSS.
