Korean Culture Society: Treasurer

When I first joined this society, I was surprised by the number of people eager to learn more about Korea, and even more surprised by the fact that some were already quite knowledgeable. This year, I took on the role of a Korean tutor, teaching beginners who have always been interested in the language but never had the chance to learn it thoroughly. I always enjoyed conversing with inquisitive students and bringing joy to their faces. It felt as if my efforts were making a positive impact, and seeing people enjoy participating in various events further motivated me to introduce Korean culture in a favourable light. 

Therefore, I am keen to contribute more to the Korean Culture Society this upcoming academic year by becoming treasurer. I aspire to become an integral part of the committee by directly managing funds and other financial matters to ensure the success of events. As a mathematics student, I believe that my analytical and numerical skills will enable me to achieve this goal. Additionally, my experience in the military has shaped me to become highly organised and detail-oriented.

If I am nominated for this position, I will make a commitment to ensure the society's financial stability and effectively manage its resources. I'll also look forward to receiving constructive feedback from both committee and non-committee members, which will help me develop better financial managements skills and contribute to the society's growth.

For the last academic year, I've enjoyed teaching Koreans to a diverse group of students who have the same interest in Korean Culture. This experience not only brought me fulfilment but also deepened my appreciation for our language and culture. For next academic year, I'm willing to step into a leadership role with the Korean Culture Society, as a Treasurer, I look forward to bringing my passion for teaching with my enthusiasm for event planning.
