Knitting Society: Social Media Officer

Hello! I'm Jess and I'm super excited to be running for the Social Media officer for KnitSoc! I would love to become more involved with KnitSoc as everyone is so friendly, fun and so creative!

I've been knitting and crocheting since I was around 7/8 years old but have only just got back into it. I joined KnitSoc last year and have loved attending the beginner sessions, and meeting new people! Fun fact, I’m obsessed with Jellycats and I’ve started crocheting jumpers for them ;)

I would love to be your Social Media officer as I'm currently the an events officer and social media manager for another society. So, I have experience in managing social media content, dealing with messages and making the Instagram page fun and engaging! I'd love to join the KnitSoc committee and work with the society to continue to make it the friendly and welcoming it has been for me this year!

My self-taught crocheting journey began during the pandemic and I’ve only become more obsessed that it’s almost an addiction to crochet wherever I’ve got time... KnitSoc was the first society I joined as a fresher and I really LOVE this community! Here I made some of my first friends at uni, spent time with people who share the same passion, and even got to teach others how to crochet in beginner sessions and organise different themed workshops and socials!

It has been truly incredible to be part of this community, and I’d like to continue spreading the joy and comfort I've found here to more people. Let’s make our uni life a little less stressful and a lot more rewarding - one stitch at a time ;)
