Election post
Hey everyone, I am Katie, and I am a third year Natural Sciences student. During my past 2 years at Kinesis as web editor and copy editor, I have loved working with people with such a range of talents from writing to artwork, which I think is what makes Kinesis so special. I have always communicated, left comments and supported peers through the editing period, supporting our talented writers who make great work.
This year I am hoping to take on more responsibility by running for president. My 2 years of experience on the Kinesis committee have given me insight into the running of the society and what important things should be maintained this year. I also have new ideas that I would hope to introduce as president that I think would really benefit the society.
As president I would hope to increase the number of social and academic events to foster the collaborative and community feel at Kinesis. This includes improving the newsroom to make the writing process more social and provide help for new writers, increasing collaboration with other societies, and organising academic talks and social events to allow our society to connect.
I have really enjoyed being a part of Kinesis these past two years and would love the chance to be the next president and maintain the high standard of writing, podcasting and artwork that we have at Kinesis.
