Kendo Club: Social Secretary

Who am I?
Hello! I’m Alu, a first-year History, Politics, and Economics student, a member of the Kendo Society, and the guy who got a bit silly with during the Halloween social (iykyk). I am running to be your social secretary. 

Why me?
Reflecting upon the past few months, Kendo has given me much more than just an extracurricular activity. It has allowed me to meet you amazing people and to be part of a tight-knit community. As such, this coming year, I hope to make a larger contribution to the community, and I believe that I can best do so in the position of social secretary. Below are two main skills that will equip me to thrive as a social secretary.

1. Media awareness: Given my crippling reels addiction extensive social media experience, I consider myself well educated in what it means to create a strong and safe brand image, allowing me to create an online presence that best represents the Society.
2. Design skills: Though my academic pursuits are far from technological, I have experience in visual design from designing posters and Instagram posts for high school groups. After all, it’d be a bit of a shame if the social sec was posting Arial size 12 text on a white background.
