Hi everyone! I’m Hana (1st year PIR) and I’m running for Language Director
I was raised in Tokyo, Japan, but I also lived in Australia and Indonesia. I taught level 1 lessons this year, and I was touched by how eager many of you were to learn about Japan and Japanese. If I become the Language Director, I will do my very best to improve your experiences.
Goals and Plans:
- Reorganise and refine the slides → Some slides are hard to understand, which I will improve (e.g. More examples and ふりがな(reading notes))
- Incorporate feedback → Distribute frequent feedback forms to quickly resolve problems and enhance quality
- More engagement → Arrange material that encourages participation, which I think is essential to have interesting classes (e.g. short quizzes, partner exercises)
Strengths:
- My experience and interactions with students as a teacher have given me a deep understanding of the difficulties both students and teachers face, which I can better with my ideas and dedication
- I have already tried to improve some class slides by adding ふりがな(reading notes), extra slides, and more examples
- I have experience struggling to relearn Japanese when I returned to Japan after living abroad, so I understand how difficult learning Japanese is
Japanese is a beautiful language, which I hope to share with you all. To do this, I wish to help create a fun and engaging learning experience for all students and teachers by becoming the Language Director!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you vote for me!
