Election post
I have had so much fun participating in as many Hindu society events as I could, from Rangeela and the Dharmic Games to weekly Kho sessions, socials and festival celebrations. This society has allowed me to meet so many new people and make friends. I want to stand for committee to try and help this society be just as welcoming, inclusive and fun as it has been this year.
I would make a great sports director because of my experience. I have been playing on sports teams for the last 10 years or so and currently play for both UCL Women's Cricket and Football and played for our Hindu Society netball team at both the regional and national Dharmic games, which was a highlight of this year. In addition, I learnt how to play a new sport, Kho, and I look forward to playing it every week. As a result, I have experience in almost all the sports we currently run through the society, which has given me key insight into how these might run next year and the kind of organisational, leadership and collaboration skills required to balance all of these.
Next year, as a sports director, I would like to increase participation, maybe by entering multiple sports teams to play in the UCL social league for regular practice and fun. I believe it would be a fun idea to host an inter-family sports day towards the end of the year once everyone has had a chance to meet and make friends.
