Election post
Having been part of the FoMSF committee for two years now, as Welfare Officer and Treasurer, I have developed the experience and skills needed to lead the society successfully as President. I have helped organise speaker events, book events and a Language Lounge to teach a diverse range of languages’ medical terms. I have enjoyed every moment of being part of committee and have got to know FoMSF societies across the UK universities. As Treasurer this year, I have been able to build up the society funds and strategically use it to ensure that we are able to fundraiser for MSF, but equally run exciting events for our members. I have a passion for humanitarian medicine and being part of FoMSF has enabled me to explore this further and learn more about a potential career in MSF. I would love to share this passion for humanitarian healthcare with others, and give back by fundraising for the communities that need it the most.
My aims for next year, if I am elected as President are:
-To increase frequency of events, both social and fundraising (aim for once/twice a month)
-Work in collaboration with other London FoMSF societies to run society quizzes, pub nights and dinners
-Run a charity concert
-More speaker events and workshops with MSF staff, to help people explore a career in humanitarian medicine
It would be an honour to lead the society as President next year and I truly believe that my wealth of experience and passion for the society will help me do so. Thank you!
