I am keen on the mindset behind Jiu Jitsu and more precisely the cohesion between members of this martial art across London. Jiu Jitsu helped me keep a calm mindset after stressful days at UCL. I would like to give back some of what I have received by supporting the development of this club.
This familial mindset inspires me and is the reason why I would like to put myself forward as the next Vice President of the Jitsu Club.
As a Mathematics student, I will make logical decisions to lead the Jitsu Club in the right directions. I am the co-founder of a Start-Up, so I am confident leading a team while listening to the needs of others. I also have experience directing meetings with company leaders and will be able to apply these skills to negotiate on behalf of the Jitsu Club with the Student Union.
UCL Jitsu Club has strong connections with other Jitsu Clubs across London but could develop its connections with other martial art societies within UCL. I would like for example to advertise Jitsu alongside other martial art societies to give a taster session of every different martial art in a limited amount of time. I would of course be open to any potential suggestions!
We need now more than ever a leader able to return the prestige of the Jitsu Club. I believe I can be that leader!
