Anindita Dhaka

Hi, I am Annie, a first-year Economics student from Singapore, and I am running for this year’s Hindu Society General Secretary. I am a sociable and approachable person who aims to ensure that your requests will be heard, delivered and implemented by HSoc.

As a first-year representative, I have been gaining insight into the organisation and management required for our flagship events like Diwali Ball and Rangeela, which I would mainly be responsible for as General Secretary. Rangeela, being one of the most culturally diverse showcases at UCL was a key moment in my first year as it allowed me to meet individuals from various backgrounds, and as General Secretary, I aim to make it even more enjoyable for everyone next year.

Alongside that, my previous leadership experience in TEDx and MUN has enabled me to understand the intricacies behind event planning, and hone important skills like thinking on my feet, being organised and most importantly, successfully working in a team. This experience would strengthen my ability to efficiently plan and manage both external and internal communications while also assisting the other members of the committee in any way that I am able to.

I hope to create a community that allows all members to feel a strong sense of community and support that I have felt this year through Hindu Society!
