Heyyyy,
Joining UCL women's rugby club this season has been the best decision I've ever made, from never having played rugby before to playing full games - I have enjoyed every moment. The club has not only been a hobby but become my family and I want this to continue in the coming years!
I am committed, organised and always up for a challenge (which I know the role will be at times). I believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to get involved with the sport and want to create an inclusive environment in which we can all thrive. My goal is to continue the fabulous running of the club, as well as to further reach out into our community in the hope of getting more girls involved with rugby. I want to support every single one of you on your own journeys - on and off the pitch, from joining in the party at Scala (when I'm actually allowed in) to having your back in a ruck.
I hope my passion for the sport and desire to make UCLWRC the best it can possibly be means you'll vote for me as your Volunteering Sec for the coming season.
Harmony xoxo

I'm applying for the volunteering secretary position as I love getting involved and helping with the wider community. I’m confident that from my past volunteering and event planning experience, I have the necessary skills required for this role. I volunteered in a care home where I organised events; here I developed my time management, flexibility, and leadership skills which will be extremely useful for this role. I understand this role requires responsibility and dedication to organise events with charities and other societies. It also requires communication with other members of the committee as well as people outside of the university. These are all qualities that I have and will be able to apply.
I attended the Autism Anglia event in February, I found it to be very rewarding to be able to give back to the community with my teammates. I’m both passionate about sport and volunteering and I loved the chance to blend them. I also volunteered with a charity, Special Olympics, where I coached cricket to a wide range of abilities. I will be looking for more opportunities to do something similar in the next year. Whilst volunteering benefits the local community, it also helps the volunteers individually by improving their confidence and allowing them to develop certain skills such as communication and teamwork, benefitting the team. I’m a reliable person, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to organise and take part in volunteering events alongside my teammates.

Since coming to university, joining the women's rugby team has definitely been the best decision I've made. The amount of support and care this club gives is above and beyond. It has improved my confidence and I have met people who I would genuinely call some of my closest friends.
I think I would be well suited for this post as I have lots of experience volunteering from working in Oxfam for two years to volunteering at a local animal shelter, and since participating in the East Anglia Autism Rugby day it has solidified how rewarding helping others is. I want to pass this experience and enthusiasm onto the next academic year and promote an inclusive and welcoming environment supporting other charities.
I hope you consider voting for me as I would love to continue the empowering and caring qualities that this club has demonstrated in abundance over the past year to not only me but to all who are involved!
Ellie :)
