Rugby Club (Women's): Events Secretary

I joined rugby this year, having never played before, and I was immediately welcomed by all the girls in the club. I've loved coming to training and playing matches, but I've especially enjoyed all the social events put on by the club this year that made me feel like I was really part of the team even though I was a newbie. I'd love to be events secretary next year so I can do the same and organise some amazing events that will help other freshers feel as welcome as I was made to feel by all the girls in the club. This term I've been helping some of the girls plan our Women In Sport Celebration which has given me insight into what my role as events secretary would entail and I'm really enjoying this at the moment. If elected, I would enjoy working collaboratively with the other girls on the committee and I'd love to plan a tour which could hopefully be abroad if COVID restrictions allow (fingers crossed!!). I think that rugby is a game where the social side is almost as important as the playing side because it helps create a real bond and team spirit, and if I was elected as events secretary I would make sure we arranged plenty of events to bring out the best in the team. 

Hi everyone, I’m Maddie. This year I’ve been Comms Officer and have been a UCLWFRFC member since 2020. Using my time on committee and previous experience helping the club organise events, I hope I can help make next year's events calendar go ahead smoothly. Whether it's tour, fundraisers, discussion panels, or international competitions (hopefully, COVID pending), I will give my all to make sure everyone has a great experience.
