At TeamUCL Gym, UCL’s on-campus gym, we’re here to support you at every step. Our free gym induction is designed to help you feel confident, safe, and motivated as you start using the gym.
🏋️ What Is a Gym Induction?
A gym induction is a short, guided session with one of our qualified fitness instructors. You’ll:
- Get a full tour of the UCL gym and facilities
- Learn how to use machines and free weights safely
- Understand gym etiquette and health & safety rules
- Receive basic technique tips
- Ask questions about training, injuries, or your goals
Whether you're brand new to the gym or just need a refresher, our induction helps you start strong.

All members are entitled to a free induction when they join—whether you're studying in the library 24/7 or fitting workouts around teaching hours, this is your chance to get off to a strong start.
Gym inductions are 45 minutes long and available to be booked Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00. (Please note inductions cannot be booked for the same day)
How to book
🗓️ Booking your Gym Induction is easy
Simply complete the PAR-Q form (below) and email it back to us at [email protected] also stating your desired date and time you would like to have your session booked in for. A member of staff will then get back to you with the next available dates and times.
