Students’ Union UCL are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our very deepest sympathies and condolences to the Royal family at this time.
Queen Elizabeth devoted her life to serving the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, having taken to the throne in 1952. Her extraordinary reign lasted 70 years, having celebrated her Platinum Jubilee this summer.

How you can mark your respects
As a Students’ Union we will be removing the flags from our offices at 25 Gordon Street to mark the period of mourning.
UCL will also be opening a book of condolence in the Quad, available for UCL staff and students who wish to pay their respects.

We understand that some students may find this a particularly difficult time. Mental health and wellbeing support is available for anyone in our community affected by the news. UCL provides a confidential counselling and information service to students 365 days a year, as well as same day appointments. Remembering Queen Elizabeth at UCL
The Queen visited UCL twice - to mark the completion of the Main Quad in 1985, and to open the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. She also passed the former University College Hospital building during her coronation tours.
