Academic Reps do one of the most important jobs in the Union - they make sure you have a voice in your education.
Each month, we’re featuring your reps and the work they’re doing to make UCL better. If you have an idea about how to improve your course, your department or UCL you can contact your own Academic Rep using our Find Your Rep page.
November's Academic Rep of the Month: Ari Weiler-Ofek
Ari has impressed us with by both co-founding the UCL Maths Freshers 22/23 Discord to provide students useful resources and by organizing UCL’s first MEng Mathematical Computational Icebreaker Social. Additionally, Ari has reflected on the module and is in-progress of improving the module selection process and more. Lastly, Ari has been proactive with helping students from their mental wellbeing to academic needs.
Ari’s stellar work and personality has led his math cohort to call him the G.O.A.T and we second that!
Once again, congratulations Ari!
Here's a bit more about Ari:
Hi everyone! My name is Ari and I am the student rep for Year 1 MEng Mathematical Computation. Last year everything was online and I was struggling with mental health, culminating in the Central Assessment Period. As a result, I am repeating Term 2 modules this year. I vowed to help improve mental health awareness especially for students with neurodiversity. I am also working to improve resources accessibility and social life for Computer Science and Mathematics students. In my free time I like to play piano, go swimming and travel with family and friends.
