Access requirements

Any page or event editing access

Tags are used to group different content and events together. The tag name is an important part of helping people discover things, so bear this in mind:

  • Tags should be separate words, in title case, like "Welcome Fair", not welcomefair or WelcomeFair
  • Never include a # - our tags are not hashtags!
  • Do not use multiple tags meaning the same thing – e.g. Breakfast / #WelcomeBreakfast / WelcomeBreakfast – use one true tag for each topic
  • On platforms like instagram, tags are used for discovery and browsing. On our website, on the other hand, we aim to use tags mostly for categorisation. So do not use additional tags that aren’t required or don't provide a useful grouping together of contents/events, e.g. adding #iLoveCoffee to a breakfast event will create a page on the website called #iLoveCoffee listing your event – not useful for visitors!

How to tag a page

  1. Create a new page or edit the existing one.
  2. In the sidebar on the right, under the Content section, start typing the tag name and select it from the list.
  3. If it is not already in the list, type the new tag and press Enter. Make sure you follow the rules as listed above - no hashtags!

How to tag an event

  1. Create a new event or edit the existing one.
  2. A few questions down in the form, there is a Tags field. These checkboxes are featured "directory" tags that we recommend selecting a few of so users can easily browse events. If you'd like your tag to become a directory tag, contact marketing.
  3. There is also an "Additional tags" field. Here you can select rarer tags, or create your own. Click into it and start typing the tag name and select it from the list.
  4. If it is not already in the list, type the new tag and press Enter. Make sure you follow the rules as listed above - no hashtags!

Including tagged content or events in a page

This applies to pages/articles/blogs and landing pages/reports.

  1. Open the block window and search for "Tagged content / events".
  2. The options for the block will appear on the sidebar.
  3. Enter a Title for the content that will show on the page.
  4. Select a type of tagged content to show - either future events, news only, or all content.
    • Note if you select news, the "Page type" for the content must be set to "News article" (in the column to the right on the edit view of the page)
  5. Enter the exact name of the tag you used, e.g "Project Active".
  6. Save the page. When you visit it, the block you placed will be replaced with cards of the tagged content/events.
