We support UCL students to develop and run community volunteering projects. We encourage students to work as part of a team and support clubs and societies as well as as well as individual students and groups unaffiliated with the Students' Union to develop their projects.
We provide students with support and guidance to develop their projects. We also provide project management training and you can apply for up to £500 to help with running costs. Navigate the tiles below to find out the different ways that you can start a community volunteering project.
If you've any questions or would like more information, email the Community Volunteering Team.

What students say about Student-Led Volunteering
I'd always had big volunteering dreams, but I never could have realised them without the support of the Volunteering Service. Thank you for helping me bring smiles to so many children and UCL volunteers and giving me the confidence to believe my dreams could become reality!
Jess French, Roots & Shoots Project
My planning and organisation skills were greatly improved! I have also gained invaluable knowledge and patience on working with teenagers!
Khafil Animashaun, Book Club
Leading the Language Skills Pool Project allowed me to join my passion for languages with a wonderful opportunity to help local communities. It is definitely worth all the effort!
