The London Varsity Series is a great tradition of sporting competition where teams of King’s College London Students’ Union (KCLSU) and Students' Union UCL (Team UCL) come together to compete with friendly rivalry whilst honouring our Varsity values of excellence, enjoyment, respect, discipline and competition. This is your chance to be involved in the 2021 Series. 

The London Varsity Series 2021 will take place on Friday the 12th, Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th March 2021. 

For the 2021 London Varsity Series we are inviting all KCLSU and Team UCL Sports Clubs to apply to run an event. Providing the event is well thought out, competitive, safe and meets the criteria set out below. To be part of the 2021 London Varsity Series you will need to either have had a minimum of 50 spectators at your 19/20 Varsity events and/or have won a development award in 19/20.

In the spirit of the event you’ll need to make an application that comes from both KCLSU & TeamUCL sports clubs. That way we know we’ve got a fixture as both sides are putting a team(s) forward.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of staff and student officer representatives from KCLSU and TeamUCL. A provisional decision on which events will be ratified as part of The London Varsity Series will be made before the start of first term. Successful applicants will then have a just over a month to submit the following documents: Risk Assessment, Event Budget, Event Plan and confirm & pay for venue bookings. Only events which meet these important requirements will be included in the series. The final confirmed timetable will be released before the end of October 2021. 

How to apply

Complete and submit this application form by 17:00 Friday the 30th October. Late applications will not be considered. 

As part of your application you’ll need to consider:

  • The format of your event and competitiveness of your fixture/s
  • How you'll encourage people to come along and support (pending government guideline)
  • How you'll create a safe and welcoming environment for your event
  • How you’ll demonstrate our Varsity Values of excellence, enjoyment, respect, discipline and competition
  • The financial plan for your event
