What is Academic Rep of the Month?

This monthly award recognises Academic Reps (Course, Research, Lead Department, or Faculty Reps) who have delivered meaningful improvements, change, or projects for the students they represent at UCL.

The monthly winner will receive a £15 One4All voucher and be highlighted across Students’ Union UCL media channels.

At the end of each month, the Education Officer, Postgraduate Officer and the SU Academic Representation Team will review the nominations and choose a winner.

Any UCL staff member, or student can submit a nomination. Reps are also able to submit nominations for themselves or their fellow reps.

Criteria

We are looking for nominations that provide details of the change, improvement, or project, and outline the impact on students. The strongest nominations will demonstrate how reps:

  1. Provide accessible approaches to collecting feedback through using a variety of written and verbal techniques to ensure all students feel able to share their views and opinions.
  2. Work in partnership with staff and/or other Reps to develop realistic, appropriate, and effective ideas to create better education.
  3. Pursue creative and resilient approaches to influencing to ensure the student voice is valued and championed, leading to successful improvements.
  4. Close the feedback loop with the students they represent to make their hard work and impact clear.
