What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Hello! I’m Jess and I’d love to represent Endsleigh Gardens and John Adams residents this year! 

Having been fortunate to stay in John Adams across my degree, my priorities for this role are:

  • To improve communication between its residents and the accomodation team, particularly in terms of maintenance issues; 🚧
  • Fostering and nurturing our accomodation community by reflecting and sharing what matters to residents most, ie, more flat vs flat competitions, increased socials and weekend games nights; 🎳
  • Generate new initiatives to integrate both Endsleigh Gardens x John Adams. 
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I’ve lived in John Adams throughout my time at UCL, giving me first-hand experience of what makes living here enjoyable, and what could be improved. I’ve noticed things others haven’t!

For the past two years, I’ve represented students as a Geography Department Rep, alongside other leadership roles across UCL including President of Baking Society, and committee of UCL’s largest club. Attending UCL’s Leadership Conference has  given me insight into how student representation  leads to meaningful change. I’m keen to bring these experiences to the role helping represent YOU and what matters most! 


 

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I think I know Halls a little too well now, having seen it all… the good and the bad…!!! 

I’d like to see more opportunities for us to get involved, within and beyond our accom, whilst allowing us, THE residents, to have a say in, and feel more in control of where we live. 

You’re voting for someone who has a strong, and genuine understanding of halls and someone who cares about more representation and more social life!!!! I’ll work with the SRA’s, Accommodation staff,  Accommodation & Housing Officer and wider SU team to elevate your experience in Halls!
