Network committee members actively support Student Officers that convene their network, and assist with the over-all decision making processes within the network. 

The Secretary shall:

  • Take accurate notes of forum proceedings and circulate those notes after the forum.
  • Support the Student Officer in the production and circulation of agendas.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I aim to strengthen the Women’s Students’ Network as a safe, empowering, and inclusive space where every woman feels valued and represented. I hope to promote initiatives that build confidence along with leadership and equality. I will ensure that women’s voices are amplified in all university matters. I will work closely with the convener to organize meaningful events, campaigns, and discussions that create lasting positive change.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring strong organizational and administrative skills essential for supporting the convener, scheduling and coordinating meetings, keeping accurate records, and circulating notes efficiently. My experience in teaching, communication, and community engagement has taught me the importance of teamwork, empathy, and attention to detail. I am reliable, proactive, and committed to gender equality. I will ensure that the network runs smoothly, meetings are productive, everyone’s voice is heard, and activities are effectively delivered.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to strengthen collaboration and communication within the Women’s Network by ensuring our meetings, agendas, and initiatives are organized, run efficiently, and timely. I aim to support the Student Officer in maintaining a clear and transparent workflow, serving as a reliable messenger to convey members’ ideas and concerns with clarity so that great discussions evolve into meaningful action. Above all, I want to help build a space where every member feels valued, respected, and genuinely motivated to contribute, without the stress of last-minute notes or missing links in the group chat.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring strong experience in leadership, communication, and collaboration. As co-leader of Politics Club, I’ve helped organize meetings, coordinate agendas, and ensure clear communication between members, all skills that directly align with the responsibilities of Secretary. My MUN experience has strengthened my ability to take precise notes and summarize complex discussions, which would be invaluable in supporting the Student Officer and maintaining accurate forum records. Consequently, I’ve learned how to manage logistics efficiently, adapt to challenges, and foster an organized environment.

Students should vote for me because I’ll be your reliable “idea translator," the one who listens to your thoughts and concerns and ensures they reach the Student Officer clearly and accurately. I want the Women’s Network to be a space where everyone feels comfortable speaking up, participating, and knowing their voice truly matters. I’ll handle the behind-the-scenes details and keep things organized so we can focus on turning our ideas into action. Together, we can create a supportive, empowering, and collaborative community, one where every member feels included and inspired to contribute!

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

In this role I hope to assist and support student officers in decision making. As well as preparing agendas and documents to help discussions remain focused, productive, and inclusive.

I’d ensure clear and accurate notes are taken and distributed across members. With everyone being informed of key decisions and actions, and every member feeling their voice is heard and represented. 

I would also contribute to building an engaged and well-organised network, with structured records of activities and outcomes. 

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

For the secretary role, I have excellent organisational skills. I’d efficiently take important notes and promptly share them with other members, making sure to ask the right questions that I feel people would like to know. As well as helping plan and circulate agendas to best suit everybody’s needs. 

I have some experience in the women’s side of the network too, as my studies focus on gender experiences in education, as well as gender experiences in other areas like society. I think that would provide some valuable insight into the network.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want to create the supportive space for each member to be connected and empowered in a relevant manner to achieve their goals. I’ll organize events that help women grow personally and professionally like workshops, mentorship, social gatherings, and several networking events. I also encourage us to support each other by practicing skills together and collaborating on networking. I’ll keep communication clear, inclusive, and consistent so everyone stays informed and involved. Ultimately, I want every member to feel stronger and better positioned to tackle their goals thanks to our community.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

strong organization and communication skills along with a passion to see more women thriving in their leadership journey. I love connecting with women of different backgrounds and discussing how to advance to the next step. I believe in building networks and my experience in organizing events with diverse groups means I can effectively coordinate activities and keep the network engaged. Im dedicated, approachable, and ready to listen and act on the needs of our community. I’m passionate about championing women to excel and break barriers in all areas of life.

I’m deeply supportive and approachable. I genuinely love connecting with women from diverse backgrounds and helping them thrive. I’m reliable and dedicated to being a strong advocate for all women in leadership. I’m always available to listen, help strategize, or just have a chat. I am very driven when it comes to supporting women to succeed on their leadership journeys, break barriers, and reach their full potential.Id love to spend the year building our networks and establishing a mindful community . I’m committed to building a community where every woman feels empowered and valued.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As Secretary, I hope to strengthen communication and coordination within the Network to ensure that all our activities are inclusive and engaging. I aim to support the committee in operating efficiently while making sure every member feels informed, valued, and involved. Clear and consistent communication is key to building collaboration, and I want to make information about events and opportunities easily accessible to everyone. By helping to plan and document initiatives, I hope to create a well-organised foundation that allows the Network to focus on what truly matters—empowering women.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring strong communication and teamwork skills from my experience in Girl Guides and on the student council, where I planned events, coordinated teams, and managed responsibilities efficiently. These roles taught me how to take initiative and ensure that plans are carried out smoothly. I’m detail-oriented, yet creative and approachable. As a Secretary who enjoys keeping order while supporting others’ ideas, I will ensure meetings are well-organised and everyone’s voice is represented. Above all, I will bring enthusiasm and commitment to keeping the Network active and welcoming for all women.
