What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Hi, my name is Go, and I'm running to be your next Sports Rep.

As Sports Rep, I promise you the following:

  1. Push for more storage space for sports societies.
  2. Explore ways to achieve an improved, more efficient system for claiming back money.
  3. Attend EVERY Activities Zone, and advocate for the interests of all sports societies.

I want societies themselves to be more included in decision making and policy making, and I hope to be a vessel for change and advocacy in order to achieve this.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Being an active rugby player and having extensively done media work during the London Varsity Series, I believe that sports is one of the biggest things that unites the UCL community.

As a student journalist, I have extensive knowledge of the functions of the Students' Union, something I believe our elected representatives have historically been lacking in. With this knowledge, I am in a strong position to more effectively push policies that would benefit sports societies, and more importantly, get them passed.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Sports societies are, more than any other societies, reliant on a functioning, communicating Students' Union

As Sports Rep, I would work closely with the Sports Officer and the Sabbatical team to advocate for and pass policies that would materially improve and benefit sport societies, from a better refund system, a greater push for inclusivity, to improving storage space.

My policies are based on real interactions and real experiences that I have had being a part of a sports club.

Vote for GO for an authentic voice, and strong advocacy.
