What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I hope to strengthen the community connections of the POC Network by organising more inclusive and intersting events. By working with other societies and cultural groups, we can create spaces that celebrate diversity and encourage meaningful interaction. These collaborations will help more students of colour feel supported and welcome, while increasing the Network’s visibility and influence in UCL. Through social events and cultural exchanges, I aim to foster mutual respect, belonging, and pride in our shared identities, and make the POC Network a home for all students of colour.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have experience in organising events from high school. I served in the Student Union’s events executive team and later as deputy head. Our team organised major school-wide events such as Halloween activities and Christmas celebrations. We handled event planning, promotion, and venue setup. I also gathered feedback from students about what kinds of activities they wanted, such as food stalls, and helped design and arrange these programmes. Through these experiences, I developed strong communication, understanding, execution, and responsibility skills, which will be very helpful for this role.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

With my previous experience in event organisation, I can turn creative ideas into real and engaging activities. For the POC community, I bring inclusiveness, patience, passion, and a strong sense of responsibility. I want to bring positive energy to the Network and make it a warmer and more supportive space. Through the events I organise, I hope to create opportunities for more students of colour to share their voices and feel truly connected to the community. Meanwhile, I aim to enhance POC's influence, so that the perspectives and needs of POC students are more widely recognised and valued.
