I aim to create campaigns that celebrate cultural diversity, promote positive representation and advance equality. I will work to ensure that the network remains a space of solidarity, empowerment and meaningful change through open dialogue, collaboration and advocacy.
I am committed to representing racialised people and turning shared concerns into collective action. My skills in communication and project coordination will help unite student groups for coalition-building, community engagement and inclusive policy development.
I will listen to all voices and amplify 📢 📣 those of the underrepresented to ensure that the network drives tangible progress on issues that matter, namely equality, opportunity and belonging.
I have always believed that university campuses are places where inspiring change can manifest, from the 1960s sit-ins at historically Black universities in support of civil rightsm to the 2010s Campus Anti-Rape Movement. I hope to spark a similar spirit of community and empowerment within the UCL POC network. As Campaigns Rep, I will work to foster transformative dialogue with POC voices and societies like ACS and Multicultural Society to build coalitions that amplify shared goals, advocate accountability, and create spaces where POC students feel represented and empowered to lead change.
I bring both passion and experience to this role. My commitment to justice for people of colour led me to study Politics, deepening my understanding of power and representation to inform future campaigns. Further, I feel that I bring experience from my previous role as the Student Head of Diversity and Inclusion at my high school, where I led initiatives promoting equity and dialogue between students and leadership. At UCL,I have continued this commitment by working to found the Intersectional Justice Society, where we will empower students to make change guided by an intersectional framework.
Students should vote for me because I believe that true solidarity between people of colour is an achievable goal, and I want to work towards it. I trust in the power of collaborative coalition, which I will harness in this role to ensure POC perspectives are heard, valued, and amplified; ensuring every student is represented and empowered to shape the UCL experience.
