Election post

Status
Elected
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Hey guys! I'm Jaime (pronounced Hi-may). I hope I can count on your guys' vote as:

  • I love meeting people! One reason I'm keen to run for this position is that I'd love to connect with folks from around the faculty.
  • I am a good listener, ready to hear people's concerns. I understand the importance of student voice and will ensure it is fairly represented.
  • I am used to understanding a wide variety of perspectives and coming up with the best possible solution from them.
  • Over the summer, I worked in the Massachusetts State Legislature and developed my communication and networking skills.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope I can be a friend and a helping hand to the students. My email and Instagram will always be available for people to contact me. If elected, I intend to:

  • Host monthly drop-in sessions for anyone to talk about how they’re doing.
  • Communicate via Outlook regarding developments in the various committees.
  • Establish a group with Course Reps from all nine departments to ensure equal representation.

Ultimately, what I achieve in this role depends on what the people of SHS wish I would achieve. I am very flexible, and I want to ensure that all departments’ input is taken into account.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Being a representative is no easy job; it requires someone with experience representing and communicating students' interests, someone who can interact with the various departments within our faculty and understand what we want. As SHS UG representative, I will go out of my way to get to know people from all the different departments and, to the best of my ability, represent all of you guys. If any of you guys have any questions, please feel free to message me! My email is [email protected], and my Instagram is @ja_padilla06. Hope I can count on you!

FOR YOU AND ME, VOTE JAIME P.
