Mingda Xie
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring substantial experience in student representation, event coordination, and community engagement. During my undergraduate studies at King’s College London, I served in the KCLCSSA External Relations and Media Departments, organising large-scale events with 300+ participants and managing promotion and partnerships. I also worked as a Student Representative in the Department of Electronic Engineering, gathering and reporting peer feedback. Now in the UCLCSSA , I plan cultural and social events for postgraduates, bringing communication, organisation, and teamwork skills to this role.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I aim to strengthen communication between postgraduate students and faculty, ensuring that academic and well-being feedback is effectively addressed. I plan to foster a more inclusive, connected, and supportive postgraduate community within the Faculty, encouraging collaboration and educational exchange. I also plan to enhance information accessibility through online platforms and student-led events, helping peers engage more easily with faculty resources and opportunities.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

With proven experience in student representation, teamwork, and leadership, I understand the challenges postgraduates face when adapting to new academic settings. I have represented peers as a Student Rep and, through roles in student societies, have developed strong communication and organisational skills. I will ensure every student’s voice is heard and use my experience in media, data, and coordination to make our Faculty more connected, transparent, and inclusive.
