Cindy Hu (She/Her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I am running because I want to support the study and social lives of PGT students in the Life Science Faculty.

During my Bachelor’s degree in Rotterdam, I was the Internal Affairs Officer of our Student Council. I represented my college of 600+ students in the Programme Committee, a group assigned by the Dutch government within universities to discuss the education quality and oversee curriculum changes. I have experience communicating efficiently with staff and management to bring student ideas to life.

I am passionate, committed, and always up for a quick chat if you run into me on campus!

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I am committed to building an efficient, inclusive, and creative environment for the postgrad students of UCL. This can include:

  • Dissertation workshops and career fairs involving alumni of the faculty to learn from their experiences.
  • Surveys that allow for students to easily give feedback on modules, assessments, and study environments.
  • For students to receive important information with efficiency and clarity by utilizing platforms such as Instagram.
  • End of term socials to connect students within the Life Science Faculty.
Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I have leadership experiences and a dedication to improving educational quality and student wellbeing. I believe that students and staff have to work together to make changes happen, so I aim to help bridge the communication between the two groups. Like most of you, I am just starting in my programme so I look forward to hearing from you your ideas and opinions about your courses.

Most of all, I am passionate about student life, and I want to help create an environment where you can succeed academically, thrive socially, and have fun!
