Maya Huang (she/her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I want my peers to feel heard and see real change from their feedback. As UCL Law Society Treasurer, I’ve worked with students and faculty to secure funding for student initiatives and fun events, learning to turn ideas into action.

Representing UCL’s A-Team at the World Universities Debating Championships taught me to listen carefully and break down complex issues. My A&O Shearman brand ambassador role is teaching me to communicate clearly on behalf of others – all essential for this role.

I’m approachable, persistent, and genuinely interested in making sure your concerns never get overlooked!

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I’ll push for earlier release of timetables so students can plan around work and other commitments.

I’ll also push for clearer feedback on assessments and clear in-depth guidance on marking criteria across modules.

I also want to set up monthly “faculty feedback forums” so students can directly raise concerns and see progress updates, making it easier to track real changes over time.

I'll be highly responsive and I'm always happy to engage with your messages!: shoot me a text anytime via +44 7771 036731 on WhatsApp, @mayahuang_ on Instagram, or even [email protected]

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

With my experience in communication roles, and a track record of working with both students (across all undergraduate years!) and faculty, I know how to turn ideas into action and keep conversations going until things improve.

I want to make it easy for students to raise concerns. I’m always happy to hear suggestions from my peers anytime — whether it’s clearer feedback, earlier timetables, or anything else — and I’ll make sure your voices are heard and acted on. See you around!

Madina Farhad (She / Her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring strong leadership and organisational skills from co-founding my school's Law Society and co-leading its Debate Club for two years. These roles developed my communication, listening, and advertising skills, and built my confidence in representing diverse views. As a prefect, I supported extra-curricular activities and engaged with students and parents, enhancing my teamwork and interpersonal skills. Together, these experiences prepare me well to advocate for student interests effectively.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As Faculty of Law UG Rep, I aim to amplify Law students' academic concerns in committees and forums, ensuring all voices are considered in faculty decisions. By engaging directly with Course and Department Reps, I will address issues raised by students and push for positive changes.  I will collaborate on union campaigns, enhancing student experience, while also developing skills in leadership,  advocacy and teamwork through representing the Law faculty. As an approachable and committed individual, I believe I am the ideal candidate for this role.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Students should vote for me because I am a determined and empathetic advocate who listens carefully to their concerns. My leadership roles in my school's Law Society and Debate Club have strengthened my communication and organisational skills, allowing me to represent diverse views effectively. I am committed to working hard to bring positive change, ensuring every Law student feels heard, supported, and valued throughout their academic journey.

Boris Liu
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I will bring strong communication and leadership skills, developed through active involvement in student societies and international study. Having experienced different education systems, I am adaptable and empathetic to the diverse challenges faced by UCL Laws students. I am approachable and committed, with the ability to listen carefully and represent views fairly. Organised and proactive, I will work hard to bridge the gap between students and staff, ensuring concerns are addressed and that our collective voice leads to meaningful improvements.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I want to ensure that student voices are not only heard but acted upon. My priorities are threefold: first, to improve communication and transparency between the Faculty and students, so that decisions are clear and feedback is accessible. Second, to enhance academic support by promoting fairer feedback processes and greater clarity around assessments. Third, to build a stronger sense of community across year groups, making UCL Laws a more inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment for all.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Students should vote for me because I will be a proactive, approachable, and effective representative. I am committed to making sure every voice is heard and that our concerns are taken seriously at Faculty and SU level. With experience in student leadership and a genuine understanding of the challenges we face, I can bridge the gap between staff and students and push for changes that improve our academic and social experience. Most importantly, I will always listen, communicate openly, and work hard to ensure our time at UCL Laws is as rewarding as possible.

Rhea Singhota (She/her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As a Prefect and Mentor at school, Laws Faculty ambassador and Vocations Administrative officer at university, I hope to transfer my leadership, organisation and public speaking skills to this role. I harbour experience in conducting faculty tours and engaging with current and prospective pupils which led me to  foster new connections and display teamwork and proactivity. Previously, I was Sikh Society's first year representative which allowed me to develop  my ability to take initiative and reach out to my peers to identify areas for improvement and formulate a strategy to overcome these.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I am keen to make a meaningful contribution to the faculty by strengthening the network between Laws students and the wider Union in order to  accentuate the personal and professional development of each pupil. I endeavour to acquire an enhanced and holistic understanding of the student body's overarching view surrounding the learning techniques employed at the faculty by offering regular opportunities for discussions, issuing feedback forms, connecting with the social media team and working with teaching staff to design a constructive method focused on specific and consistent improvement.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I will strive to make a positive impact and give back to the faculty through this role by being a confident and reliable voice for the pupil body to express their concerns and suggestions to. It is imperative that our views are actively listened to and engaged with, and I will work towards this by employing my existing skills surrounding communication, problem solving and decision making. I am grateful to have formed many flourishing friendships throughout  first year and I am keen to continue doing so during this role and simultaneously augment awareness 0f institutional-level issues.
