What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As a PhD researcher in Computational Finance, I bring cross-disciplinary experience bridging Computer Science, AI, and quantitative research. I have represented postgraduate students in academic and professional forums, helping strengthen collaboration between departments. My communication skills and policy experience enable me to advocate effectively for the needs of doctoral researchers.I aim to improve research-student representation, enhance supervision quality, and ensure equitable access to resources across labs and programmes. 

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I aim to improve research-student representation, enhance supervision quality, and ensure equitable access to resources across labs and programmes. I plan to establish regular feedback channels between PGRs and faculty leadership, promote interdisciplinary networking events, and advocate for clearer mental-health and funding support pathways for doctoral researchers.

I understand the challenges faced by PGRs—from funding uncertainty to workload and wellbeing—and will work to ensure every voice is heard. I will be an accessible, responsive, and proactive representative committed to improving the PhD experience across the Faculty of Engineering.
