Candidates

I-Han Cheng (Dr)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As a medical doctor, I am driven to care for and help others, which I find incredibly meaningful. I have volunteered for over 10 years at a center for children with disabilities, supporting those with conditions such as autism and Down syndrome. Additionally, I work part-time as a spinning coach, enjoying the opportunity to engage with diverse people and help them improve their lives. My strong sense of compassion and experience make me an ideal candidate to represent student interests effectively.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My primary goal is to ensure that every student in the Faculty of Medical Sciences feels included, heard, and valued. I will actively gather feedback from students across different programs, ensuring their academic and welfare concerns are brought to the table. By working closely with faculty members, I will advocate for improvements in teaching quality, resources, and support systems. I aim to create better communication channels between students and the administration, ensuring that issues like course content, workload, and mental health support are promptly addressed.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am deeply committed to making sure every voice is heard and valued. As a dedicated medical doctor and long-time volunteer, I understand the importance of empathy, communication, and action. I will fight to improve your academic experience, advocate for your needs, and create a stronger, more connected community. I’m not just running to represent you—I’m running to bring real, positive change that will benefit all of us. Together, we can make UCL a place where every student thrives.
