What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My goal for this year is to make the Trans* network a vibrant and close-knit community. Although there is no one unified Trans* experience, I want all students in the network to know there is a place at UCL where they can be fully themselves and meet others with whom they have something in common. I hope to schedule regular socials, with a mix of club nights and alcohol free events like film nights. I also want to show students cool queer ran spaces in London, so we can give back to the community we're a part of!

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I was elected to the Trans* network committee, and have experience with the Union and its inner workings. I have also volunteered for a couple of LGBT charities over the last 6 years, and will aim to make our events as inclusive to different peoples needs as I can.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Finding the Trans* network when I first moved to UCL meant that I knew there was a group of people who were going to welcome me and understand my journey more than anyone I knew at home. I automatically felt like it was safe for me to be myself, to experiment, and to put down my walls a little bit. I want every Trans* student at UCL to feel that way and I think one key step in making that happen is to create a solid community within the Trans* network.
