Let me start with something we all recognise.
You open Instagram. You see five society posts in a row. You remember… maybe one.
That gap between being posted and being remembered is exactly why I’m running for Head of Visual Communications.
SRI has something genuinely valuable: it connects students across a range of programmes. But for a society built on connection, our visuals have to do one thing exceptionally well: Signal clearly and instantly: "This is relevant to you".
My approach to visual work is strongly psychology-driven. I pay attention to how colour guides attention, how layout reduces confusion, and how small design choices decide whether a student pauses or scrolls. It is design for clarity and recognition.
If elected, here’s what I will focus on:
- Make SRI instantly recognisable: A clean, cohesive visual system so posts stop looking isolated and start building a proper society identity.
- Design for busy UCL students: Clearer information blocks and visuals that communicate key details in seconds.
- Support the whole team with practical assets: Organised design files and fast workflows so high-quality visuals become the default.
SRI’s strength is its people across programmes. My goal is to make sure our visuals actually bring them together.
If you want SRI to look sharper, clearer, and more recognisable across campus, I’d genuinely value your vote.

I have been involved in the SRI Society since my first year and I really enjoy being part of the community. I am currently serving as a Creative Editor on the subcommittee, which has given me valuable experience working with the team and contributing to the society’s activities.
Through this role, I have developed skills in visual design and communication. I am familiar with tools such as Canva and other design platforms, which I use to create posters and promotional materials for events. I understand how important visual communication is in promoting activities and encouraging student participation.
I also really enjoy communicating and working with others! I believe I am easy to approach and collaborate with, and I enjoy being part of a team where people can share ideas and work together. My experience on the subcommittee has helped me understand how teamwork contributes to making events successful.
I believe my experience and skills can help support the society’s events and make them more engaging and successful. I would like to continue contributing to the society by using my abilities to improve the visual promotion of events and help create a welcoming and active community for students interested in social research. I am really looking forward to continuing to work with everyone and contributing more to the society. I would also love to hear ideas and feedback from other members and work together to make the society’s activities even better!
