Community has always been at the heart of my university experience. As one of the few from my school who chose to study abroad, I arrived in London worried about feeling alone. Yet, despite being far from everything I once called home, through Singsoc, I found not just friends, but a family.

I hope to serve the wider Singaporean community at UCL by creating that same sense of belonging for others. Having experienced how powerful a “home away from home” can be, I want every member to feel supported, valued, and included. As Vice President, I will help ensure our society remains inclusive, forward-looking, and united.

I am committed to shaping events that strengthen bonds within and beyond our community, expanding networks and opportunities for all.

I bring warmth, approachability, and steady leadership, and I will make it a priority to ensure every voice is heard. Singsoc is more than a society, it is a family. Its charm is in its people, and I am dedicated to ensuring that each member feels involved, connected, and proud to call this community their second home.

As Vice President, I pledge to give back to a society that has given so much to me, and to work towards building an even stronger and more vibrant SingSoc. Let’s continue making our community a place where every Singaporean at UCL feels they truly belong.

Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind – cheesy as it sounds, this is the Singsoc community I envision. Given the chance as your vice president and welfare officer, I hope to extend this feeling of support and familiarity of home to more people across different interests and commitment levels, while also enhancing existing initiatives. But who am I, and how will I achieve this?

  1. Building a genuine community from the ground up
    • I find purpose in forming genuine friendships and bringing people together. You can count on me to be real, open and always ready to yap :)
    • More informal low-pressure hangouts, keeping Singsoc chill, fun and empowering ground-up initiatives
  2. Refining current initiatives, emphasising inclusivity
    • Maintaining core initiatives, improving them based on feedback
    • Having a wide range of initiatives so that there’s something for everyone – extrovert or introvert, sleeper build or sleeping build, mickey mouse or overworked
    • Looking out also for postgraduates, exchange students and others
  3. Acting as a bridge
    • As a certified #saikangwarrior, servant leadership is at my core – you bet you’ll be seeing me around at events. I would love to journey alongside our Singsoc community, and make you feel more connected to Singsoc and Exco

To me, VP is a people-centric role, through which I can give back to the community who has become almost like a family to me. It’s a constant reminder that while we explore new horizons, it’s always good to be
