Who says that sports are limited to physical activities?! For the next session of MSOC, I am really excited to introduce the UCL M-EGames! I want to bring these digital arenas as a platform for us to connect with other Malaysian Students across the UK. Additionally, I want to give opportunities to game enthusiasts to participate in competitions similar to M-Games. The games that I will be including are MLBB, Valorant, Clash Royale and Chess (Subject to change based on demand).
Furthermore, I see sport as a bridge that could bring MSOC members together. Therefore, I will organise weekly sport sessions which includes Football, Badminton, Frisbee and more! However, it will be boring to just have the usual uncompetitive social sessions every week right? Let’s spice things up by competing in UCLML (UCL Malaysians League) which will be taking over some weekly social sessions! The winners of UCLML will represent UCL MSoc in friendly matches with other MSocs. Not only that, for each sport, I will be selecting a passionate sport leader who will be leading training sessions for beginners which will be conducted from time to time.
Lastly, no one will be left behind. I will ensure that all events organised are inclusive. Slots for the activities will be allocated equally to everyone and any competitions are organised fairly. I believe that sports should be a medium for connection not a platform for severance. Therefore, please vote for me as I will be your medium for a more active MSoc.
Hi, my name is Elisa, a first-year BSc Computer Science student running for Sports Director of UCL Malaysian Society.
Why vote for me?
I’m part of UCL MSoc’s RD Programme, reflecting my commitment to being actively involved. I was Vice Organising Chairperson for the Malaysian Olympics and am currently VOC for the Gala Dinner. These roles strengthened my leadership, coordination and event planning skills.
As a Course Representative, I work closely with the Student Union, which is a vital part of this role. Through this position, I’ve been trained to represent student interests effectively and contribute to building a stronger community.
I have also organised several competitions, such as the Girls in Code International Competition and the Kuala Lumpur Coding Cup, gaining experience coordinating teams and running both individual and group events.
Plans for 26/27
I want to make sports more accessible and consistent. I will increase casual sports sessions by focusing on sports that do not require court bookings, like Captainball and Frisbee, allowing us to run events more frequently.
I also plan to invest in portable nets so we are less dependent on fixed venues, giving us flexibility for training and sports events.
Finally, I aim to expand the range of sports offered, making sessions welcoming for all skill levels and encouraging members to try something new.
For competitive players, I hope to see you in MGames, and I would love to hear your feedback.

Some of the best moments in life are the ones you never expected—when everyone suddenly realizes, “this is such a vibe.” Those spontaneous, slightly chaotic, joy-filled moments are the ones that become core memories, and that’s exactly what I hope to create.
Sport has been a huge part of my life. As a MSSS cross country and track runner, I’ve experienced the thrill of competition, but also the friendships and community that come with it. Beyond competing, I’ve spent some years creating those environments for others—coaching athletics for elementary students and serving as House Captain and Student Council, where I organized events and led teams through sport.
My favorite initiative was launching a house spirit competition: watching everyone passionately cheering reminded me how powerful sport can be in bringing people together. If elected, I want UCLMsoc sports to be competitive, welcoming, and genuinely fun. I hope to host friendlies with other culture societies (not just with other Msocs), build strong teams for MGames, and create cute jerseys members are proud to wear. But more than anything, I want to create moments where we can laugh, compete, and sometimes be a little silly together—the kind that makes you feel like you’re back home in Malaysia.
And while I may not hold a Malaysian passport, I’m proudly your honorary Malaysian—Amy Kyuri Kim. Whether as Sports Director or simply as a member, I truly hope to create some of our best university memories together.
