Missing the sunshine from home? A language that feels effortless? Or the magical job descriptions that say "no sponsorship required"?
Being an international student is exciting...but it can be confusing, lonely, and occasionally involve Googling things like "how do Oyster cards work."
I want to create more spaces where international students can meet people, share stories, and realise we’re all figuring this out together. Think relaxed coffee chats, cultural nights, and “London survival” sessions
Whether you're looking for new friends or just trying to survive the cold London rain, I’ve got you.
- Experience Representing Students.
As a Student Representative, I communicate with students, gather feedback, and work with staff to make sure different voices are heard.
- Experience Running Events.
As a UCL Student Ambassador, I've helped organise and deliver all kinds of events, which means I know how to coordinate, communicate, ad make things run smoothly.
- Leadership.
As Vice Presidents of high school Student Union, I spend years organising activities, working with teams, and building communities.
In short, I know how to listen, organise, and bring people together, exactly what this role needs.
If elected as Social Secretary, I hope to:
- Create a more structured and clearly communicated social calendar, ensuring events are consistent and accessible.
- Organise a diverse range of activities that encourage meaningful interaction rather than passive attendance.
- Ensure events accommodate different schedules and social preferences within such a diverse international community.
- Introduce structured feedback systems to ensure the Network genuinely reflects the needs of its diversity.
- Strengthen collaboration between cultural societies to create a more connected international student experience.
I bring two years of experience as an Academic Student Representative, where I liaised between students and staff, coordinated feedback, and ensured constructive communication. Through this role, I developed strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage responsibilities effectively.
I understand that serving a community as large and diverse as UCL’s 18,000 international students requires reliability, clarity, and consistency. As an international student myself, I will bring empathy and a genuine commitment to creating a supportive community.
I genuinely care about creating a community where international students feel welcomed and valued. I understand how overwhelming a large university can feel, especially when studying abroad, and I want to make that experience more connected and supportive.
I believe leadership should be approachable and attentive, and I will prioritise listening to students’ ideas and concerns so that the Network reflects the diversity of our community.
By voting for me, you are choosing someone who is committed to building a stronger sense of belonging and working to support international students at UCL.
If elected as Social Secretary of the International Students' Network, I hope to create more opportunities for international students to connect, share experiences, and build friendships at UCL. I aim to organise inclusive and engaging social events that help students feel welcomed and supported in a new environment. I also hope to encourage cultural exchange between international and home students so that everyone can learn from each other and build a stronger sense of community at UCL.
I bring strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills developed through my experience as a Student Representative in Biochemical Engineering and a member of the CSSA General Secretary. These roles have taught me how to understand student needs, coordinate activities, and bring people together. With an international perspective and an enthusiastic attitude, I am committed to creating welcoming social spaces where international students can connect, share cultures, and feel part of the UCL community.
Students should vote for me because I am passionate about bringing people together and creating a welcoming community for international students. With experience in student representation and organising activities, I understand how to listen to students and turn ideas into engaging events. I will work to organise inclusive social activities that help students meet new friends, share cultures, and feel truly connected at UCL.
I hope to help international students feel more connected and supported at UCL. As an international student myself, I understand how exciting it is to study in a new country, but also how overwhelming it can feel at times, and how it can take a while to find your people. I would organise regular social events where students can get to know people from different cultures and backgrounds, such as cultural exchange activities and collaborations with societies. My goal is to create welcoming spaces where students can make genuine friendships and feel that they truly belong in the UCL community.
I have led and contributed to a range of events that bring students together. At school, I organised multiple Chinese New Year fundraising activities that raised money for a local hospice while sharing Chinese traditions. I also set up an international committee to create an open and direct channel for students to share feedback and have their voices heard. As a school prefect and now a student representative at UCL, I regularly communicate with people from various backgrounds and support students in building confidence and feeling part of the community both academically and pastorally.
I am organised, approachable and bring a lot of enthusiasm and positive energy into social events, helping create a vibrant and respectful environment. When planning social activities, I focus on creating welcoming spaces where students can easily talk, share their cultures and get to know one another. I care about listening to what students truly want and making sure their ideas are actually turned into activities that people can enjoy together. For me, good social events are about enabling people to feel comfortable and safe, enjoy themselves, and discover new friendships along the way.
If elected as Social Secretary for the UCL International Students’ Network, I hope to build a more connected and inclusive community. I want to break down the divide between local and international students by creating events that encourage genuine interaction and shared experiences. My goal is to reduce isolated social circles and foster mixed-nationality friendships across accommodations and courses, ensuring every student feels welcomed, valued, and part of one united UCL community.
I bring proven leadership, organisation, and teamwork to this role. As Head of International Students at my high school in Bath, I led and organised multicultural events, such as talent and fashion show, bringing students from different backgrounds together, which displayed my strong leadership and time management skills. As a college badminton team captain, I developed strong communication and motivational skills. Through my role on the charity committee in college, I strengthened my collaboration, event-planning experience, and ability to work inclusively within diverse teams under pressure.
Students should vote for me because I am dedicated to creating a more inclusive, connected, and vibrant ISN community where everyone feels welcome. I will organise a variety of social events, from club nights and elegant black-tie evenings to cultural events celebrating different festivals and traditions, such as Chinese New Year, Oktoberfest, and Tsukimi, so students can learn more about different cultures and truly embrace diversity. I am approachable, organised, and passionate bringing students across backgrounds, courses, and accommodations to form diverse, lasting friendships at UCL.
I arrived late to university, missed freshers week and felt too hesitant to attend events alone, I know exactly how lonely that feels. I will organize events beyond the freshers week, for late arrivals and for those who are easing into university life at their own pace. I will organize events based on mutual interests and culture, so that students can bond over shared experiences. My goal is simple: every international student feels seen, welcomed and reminded that it's never too late to find your people.
I have organized student networking events for 100+ people, handling logistics, coordinating volunteers, and making sure every detail was taken care of so attendees could just show up and connect. My work with a local NGO which involved mentoring and doing community outreach taught me something even more valuable: how to make people from completely different backgrounds feel seen and supported. I have done this at scale, I have the experience, and I am ready to bring both to every international student who needs it.
I have organized networking events for 100+ students, managed schedules under pressure, and spent time in NGOs, mentoring and doing community outreach, so I know what it actually takes to bring people together. But more than any of that, I have been the international student standing on the outside wondering how to get in. That experience lives with me. I will organize events beyond the usual, culture-specific mixers, and regular socials all year, because I know firsthand what a difference it makes when you have somewhere to belong and be yourself.
