Sonia Naidu

I’m applying for Marketing Officer because I enjoy being creative and showcasing things in a way that excites people. I’ve seen how effective promotion can transform an event, for example when I helped host Culture Day at school, building anticipation and encouraging engagement beforehand made a huge difference to the turnout and atmosphere. India Soc already has such vibrant events, and I’d love to help capture that energy and share it more widely. Whether through social media campaigns, creative content or strategic promotion, I’d want to highlight not just the events themselves but the sense of unity and culture behind them. I genuinely love being part of India Soc, and I’d be proud to represent it visually and publicly.

Esha Biyani

I would be a strong Marketing Officer for Indian Society because of my genuine enthusiasm and the incredible sense of community it creates. Being part of this society means more than just attending events to me. It is about celebrating my culture, building friendships, and creating a welcoming space for everyone. I am passionate about contributing to that atmosphere next year and making sure every event is promoted in a way that reflects the vibrancy and inclusivity of our community. I would bring lots of energy and creativity to the role, supporting the Head of Marketing in producing engaging promotional material across all social media platforms. I have previously worked on videography projects, filming and editing short promotional videos for school and community events, where I developed strong skills in framing and editing. I also understand how cohesive branding across platforms strengthens engagement and builds recognition. I understand the importance of consistent, high-quality marketing in shaping how Indian Society is perceived, and I would approach every task with care and attention to detail. Most importantly, I am a committed, trustworthy, and reliable individual. I am highly organised and prepared to dedicate consistent effort throughout the year. I would take pride in representing Indian Society as the marketing officer and working collaboratively with committee members to ensure every event reaches its full potential.

Aryan Mittal

Hi everyone! I am Aryan, a 1st year Geography and Economics student. I’m running for Head of Marketing for India Society because I want to help showcase the energy and culture that make our society so special.

At my previous school, I was heavily involved in promoting major events. I designed posters for charity fundraisers and social events, and created promotional videos for large school occasions that were shared across social media to increase engagement and attendance. Through this experience, I developed strong skills in visual design, digital promotion, and understanding how to capture people’s attention online.

If elected, my goal would be to ensure India Society’s events are promoted in a way that reflects how exciting and vibrant they truly are. This would include creating engaging posters, short promotional videos, and consistent social media content that builds hype around upcoming socials, cultural celebrations, and collaborations with other societies. I would also focus on making our online presence more dynamic so that members stay informed and excited about what’s happening throughout the year.

India Society has an incredible community and some amazing events, and I want to help make sure they get the visibility they deserve. As Head of Marketing, I will work to create creative, professional, and engaging promotions that encourage more people to get involved and be part of the society.

Kavya Mhalsekar

Hi, I’m Kavya, and I’d like to run for Marketing Officer!

I have always had a strong creative interest in art and design, which I enjoy applying when creating promotional content. I naturally notice details like colour, layout, and overall presentation, and I think that really matters when you want people to engage with what you’re sharing. I’m confident using Canva to design posters social media posts, and other graphics, and I enjoy experimenting with different styles to make designs that are easy to read and grab attention. Indian Society is more than events; it represents culture and community, and I want to use these tools to make sure that our marketing reflects that with authenticity and purpose.

I also stay up to date with social media trends, keeping up with what works on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. I’d love to help make Indian Society’s social media lively and engaging, a place that not only showcases our events in a fun way but also encourages more people to join by reaching a wider audience.

On top of that, I’m organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once. I’m used to working with deadlines and planning ahead, so I can make sure everything is ready on time and runs smoothly. Most importantly, I’m really excited about the chance to be part of the committee. I understand how much work goes into running the society and organising events like Jashn, and I would love to contribute to it and help Indian Society continue to grow even more!

Lakshmi Sindhu Janipireddy

I would like to become the Marketing Officer for the Indian Society because I enjoy promoting events and engaging with the community through creative content. In sixth form, as Vice President of the South Asia Society, I managed both the Instagram and TikTok platforms, where I helped promote events, share updates, and increase engagement among students. This experience taught me how to create engaging posts and effectively reach a wider audience. I also have my own TikTok platform, which has helped me develop skills in content creation and understanding social media trends. Through this role, I hope to highlight the society’s activities, celebrate Indian culture, and help ensure our events are well-promoted and well-attended. I am creative, organised, and enthusiastic, and I would love to contribute to the society’s continued growth.

Saanvi Nagaraj

Hi, I’m Saanvi Nagaraj and I’m a 1st Year Medic. I am applying to run for Marketing Officer for Indian Society. I believe I am suitable for this role as it encompasses the publicity and social media aspects of the society. Previously at my Sixth Form, I was appointed as the Communications Prefect where I created the termly newsletter through leadership and delegating tasks to others in the wider Prefect Team as well as manage the Instagram and other socials. I also acted as the Publicity Officer for the Medic Mentor Virtual Medical Society where planning and communication was essential - I planned multiple sessions where presentations, social media posts and many publicity forms had to be created before the session was approved. In conclusion, I think I am suited for this role due to my vast experience dealing with promotional material and social media communications - skills necessary to excel in this role.

Pranjal Priya Singh

I believe I am a strong candidate for Marketing Officer as I have a clear understanding of digital promotion and a strong foundation in design. I have designed all advertisements for Sutton Cultural Club’s large-scale events, including Holi and Diwali parties, creating visually striking and culturally aligned content while developing a strong sense of branding, creativity and audience appeal.

Beyond this, I have learnt to create and market popular and eye-catching content having recently built a tiktok platform with my most recent video reaching 200,000 views and 25,000 likes in under a week. This emphasises my ability to identify trends and create resonating and well liked content.

Furthermore, I have designed and produced the yearbook for my secondary school, a project that required creativity, organisation and attention to detail across many months. This strengthened my ability to maintain high design standards whilst being mindful of deadlines - an essential skill for this committee role.

Ultimately, I am enthusiastic to bring creativity and commitment to UCL Indian society’s online presence and marketing value by using fresh and engaging ideas.
