I’m running for Client Relations Director because I want to strengthen the partnerships that allow the society to create valuable opportunities for its members. The intersection of healthcare and business is an area I’m particularly interested in, and UCL Healthcare Business Society provides a platform to explore how innovation, industry, and strategy come together in the real world.

Having served as a Client Relations Executive this year, I have developed a strong understanding of how the role works in practice. Through outreach, maintaining relationships with firms, and supporting events, I’ve seen first-hand how important strong external partnerships are to the society’s success. This experience means I can step into the Director role with a clear understanding of what works well and how we can continue building on it.

Alongside this, I’ve held leadership roles in other UCL societies, where I developed experience in organisation, communication, and coordinating teams. These roles have prepared me to lead the Client Relations team effectively and ensure outreach efforts remain structured, proactive, and aligned with the society’s wider goals.

As Client Relations Director, I would focus on maintaining strong relationships with our current partners while expanding our network by building connections with firms. By working closely with the committee, I’d ensure outreach and event coordination are efficient so the society can continue delivering impactful opportunities.

I am standing for the role of Client Relations Director because the UCL Healthcare Business Society introduced me to a dimension of healthcare beyond traditional scientific pathways. Coming from a strong scientific background, I had primarily considered routes such as research or clinical practice. Through UCLHBS, I became more aware of the strategic and commercial decisions that take place in the healthcare industry, and the role technical students can play within them. I believe this perspective should be made more accessible to other science students.

As Client Relations Director, I would focus on developing structured and sustainable partnerships rather than one-off engagements. This includes maintaining consistent communication with organisations, identifying opportunities for repeat collaboration, and ensuring that external partners view UCLHBS as professional and reliable. I would also aim to introduce targeted skill building sessions with industry professionals, focused on preparing technical students for the expectations of industry roles.

I am comfortable initiating contact with organisations and representing the society in professional contexts. I understand that strong partnerships rely on clear communication and consistent follow up, and I would prioritise maintaining relationships rather than simply establishing them.
