As a mechanical engineer myself who has a passion for engineering I believe I am fit for this role as I have already have experience from working as the events executive for Lego Society where I helped set up collaboration events with other societies like Mahjong Soc, Board games soc, Introvert society and many others. I'm also a finance and media executive for Ingenium Society, a new society that helps anybody start engineering projects with the guidance and experience of highly skilled students and even lecturers from engineering departments.

I’m applying for the Events Executive role because I genuinely enjoy being involved in the organisational side of things. Whether it’s helping to run science talks or organising a blood donation drive, I’ve seen how much of a difference good planning and teamwork make to the overall experience.

Through those experiences, I realised that events are often remembered not just for their content, but for how smoothly they run and how welcome people feel. I’m comfortable taking on responsibility, staying organised, and adapting when things don’t go exactly to plan, which I think is essential in this role.

For the Engineering Society, I’d want to contribute to events that feel both professional and approachable. I think attention to detail and clear communication within the team can make a huge difference in delivering something that students genuinely enjoy attending.

For me, this role isn’t about being at the front, it’s about making sure everything behind the scenes works the way it should.

I'm running to be the Events Executive for the Engineering Society as I enjoy organising, planning and running events. I also want to create opportunities for people to get involved in activities outside of lectures and connect with fellow engineers. My background as Deputy Secretary General for a 400-attendee Model United Nations conference and as an Upper School Captain has given me first-hand experience managing large-scale logistics and coordinating diverse teams to ensure everything works on the day. I’ve also taken on leadership roles in engineering projects, where I’ve been in charge of organising tasks, keeping everyone on track, and making sure we follow deadlines. I want to bring that same experience to the Engineering Society by organising a mix of socials, industry events and hands‑on workshops that give people the chance to meet others and try something new. My goal is to build and improve upon this year's events to make the engineering faculty feel more connected and build a greater sense of community.

Organisation is a skill which you have to master throughout your life. From secondary school I was organising school markets for my peers and at the end of high school I ended up being a Senior Prefect where I was able to plan and run raffle, organise house dinners (that was a track) and lead STEM society.

Therefore, I can easily manage lots of tasks and responsibilities at the same time whether it is making slides for STEM soc or creating a seating plan. Obviously nobody is perfect so my organisation skills aren't perfect as well but improvement is a key.

Therefore, I am ready to apply my skills and improve them at the same time to deliver the best events in Engineering Society.
