Ranjeev Singh

“Money is the greatest single problem-solver known to man.” – Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street

Strong sponsorship powers everything EFS delivers: from flagship events to career opportunities for members. As Director of Client Relations, my goal is to expand our corporate network and secure the highest level of sponsorship the society has ever seen.

During my private equity internship, I secured funding from multiple European family offices and liaised with institutions such as Barclays and Santander, giving me first-hand experience in building professional relationships and raising capital—skills I will bring to EFS.

Grow sponsorship

  • I will focus on increasing both the number of sponsors and the depth of our relationships, positioning EFS as a gateway between finance firms and ambitious students. By leveraging Bloomsbury Capital’s strong industry and alumni connections and building targeted sponsor events, we can bring new firms into the network, deliver greater value to sponsors and expand opportunities for members.

Build long-term partnerships

  • My goal is to move beyond one-off sponsorships, focusing on lasting relationships through regular engagement, recurring events and clear communication. This ensures sponsors see continued value in supporting EFS.
Deanna Mistry

I am nominating myself for this position because I am confident in my ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships that add long-term value to the society. I am proactive, organised, and comfortable communicating with a wide range of corporate sponsors to alumni and external partners. I am confident that my reliability and commitment to the society’s purpose will enable me to contribute positively and help elevate the society’s presence this year.

I have experienced how valuable it is to attend events as I’m still discovering my path in finance. I want to make events further accessible by collaborating with the committee to expand professional connections with alumni and firms. I am particularly motivated to curate a diverse range of events, from technical workshops and employer panels to networking evenings, that cater to different interests and stages within finance. By maintaining clear and professional communication, I am passionate about creating meaningful, engaging experiences that empower students pursuing careers in this industry.

I believe I am the right fit for the role because I combine strong organisational skills with a genuine enthusiasm for bringing people together.

I can leverage my networking skills to do a great job. I would also love to be part of the EFS committee as I’ve loved the events this year.

Clio Chen

Hey there, it’s Clio :) your trustworthy candidate for Director of Client Relations of the Economic and Finance Society. I’m currently studying German and History of Art. While my academic background is in the humanities, it has given me a diverse perspective and strong communication skills that are essential in client relations, networking, and partnership building. Through my experience working in the art market with galleries, curatorial projects, and art fairs, I have developed strong skills in building professional relationships, engaging with clients, and connecting people across different industries. These experiences taught me how important networks and meaningful connections are in creating opportunities. Coming from a diverse academic background, I understand that many students who are interested in finance may not come from traditional economics or finance degrees. Because of this, access to professional networks and industry insights becomes even more important. As Director of Client Relations, my goal is to strengthen the society’s relationships with external partners and expand our professional network. I want to help create more opportunities for members to connect with professionals in finance, gain industry insights, and build the relationships that are essential for entering the finance industry.

Brianna Corcodel

Hello everyone, I’m Brianna. I’m a first-year Economics and Business student from Romania. I’ve taken part in multiple EFS events and I want to get more involved, so I’m running for Director of Client Relations.

These are three reasons why I believe you should vote for me:

  1. I’ll ensure what I promise is what I deliver. I’ll work closely with the other departments to ensure briefs, timelines, branding and post-event reporting, so partnerships translate into better speakers, stronger sponsorship, and real member opportunities.
  2. Professional representation. I’m comfortable reaching out, pitching value, negotiating, and following up until a “yes”. In previous roles as the sponsorship coordinator for a large Christmas charity event, I helped secure funding by negotiating with 150+ sponsors, so I know how to build relationships and convert them into real support for the EFS.
  3. I’ll make EFS measurable and partner-friendly. I’ll track simple key performance indicators such as partner satisfaction and event engagement, and use feedback to improve each event.

My goal is simple: more high-quality partnerships → better events → real outcomes for our members

Minerva Chen

Hi everyone, I’m Minerva, a second-year Mechanical Engineering with Business Finance student.

Through my year placement as a Business Support Manager, I’ve worked closely with clients, prepared financial reports and bids, and managed CRM systems to ensure clear communication and long-term relationship building. This experience has shown me how strong client relationships are built on reliability, organisation, and genuine engagement.

Alongside this, I’ve organised networking events and panel discussions through UCL Mechanical Engineering Society, coordinating logistics and communicating with both professionals and students to ensure smooth delivery and strong participation.

If elected as Director of Client Relations, I would focus on strengthening relationships with sponsors, members as well as partner societies with great passion in helping students grow.

I’m detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable communicating across teams and with external stakeholders. I believe I can help grow both the professionalism and outreach of the Economics and Finance Society.

Thank you for your support!

Beata Sperling-Tyler

I am a first year English student, looking to carve my way into a career in finance, and this year I have thoroughly enjoyed the ECFS sessions, particularly the Fireside Chats. I am also actively trying to set up my own business, and as a result I have gained experience in contacting clients and investors- made many mistakes regardless, but developed my skills not only in finance ( thanks to this society), but also in effective communication. The Head of Client Relations requires someone who has the time to communicate with clients, is an eloquent speaker, and has become a seasoned member of society. My ability to speak both Polish and ( some) German allows me to connect with all kinds of clients- allowing the society to grow. Although I have only been at UCL for two terms, I have eagerly attended each session, and partaken actively in my role on the committee of the Financial Journalism Society. I am now looking to develop my leadership roles, and use my skills to grow as a trusted and proficient member of the ECFS committee.

Rustam Mukhamedjanov

Quick thought: When firms work with a student society once… What actually makes them come back?

It’s rarely the event itself. It’s the built relationship!

Over the past year at UCL, I’ve worked across marketing, external outreach, and society initiatives where relationship quality made the real difference.

That’s exactly why I’m standing for this position. EFS has strong momentum and credibility. But long-term growth doesn’t come from one-off partnerships. It comes from partners who trust us and actively want to work with our members again.

If elected, my priorities are clear:

  • Build partnerships that actually last: Creating smooth, professional experiences that make more firms want to return year after year.
  • Raise the standard of external communication: Cleaner outreach and more structured relationship management so EFS feels polished at every touchpoint.
  • Connect partners more meaningfully with members: Ensuring collaborations translate into real value. I will organise professional insight sessions, case support, and opportunities students genuinely benefit from.

Why vote for me?

Because I naturally focus on the details that others overlook. I understand that in finance and economics spaces, credibility compounds slowly, but when done right, it compounds powerfully.

EFS already opens doors. My goal is to make more firms want to keep those doors open for YOU!

If you want client relations that strengthen the society long-term, I’d be honoured to have your vote.

Nicholas Tchakov

I'm Nicholas, you may or may not have seen me on Instagram.
Current EFS talks lack the intimacy required for genuine relationship building and often feel one-sided. I will fix that, and here's how:

  • I will establish bi-weekly "Career Coffees", where a curation of our most ambitious members will engage in small, year-group-specific chats with industry professionals and EFS alumni. These aren't just chats though; these are opportunities for students to turn handshakes into hires via an invaluable referral pipeline. Our sponsors want the best talent, and I'm making sure that talent is you.
  • I will use my experience in outreach to ensure that EFS hosts a diverse range of professionals, from bulge brackets to boutique firms, specializing in sectors ranging from pharma to fintech. This will ensure that students from all backgrounds can find inspiration and build a network to break into and excel within the industry.

If you want real connections and real relationships, vote for Nicholas.

Farah Ben Yacoub

The Economics and Finance Society plays an important role in connecting students with firms, professionals, and opportunities across the financial sector, and I would strive to support that mission.

Through my studies in mathematics and economics as a BASc Arts and Sciences student and my internship experience in finance and accounts, I have developed a strong interest in financial markets and corporate decision-making. I am particularly interested in how organisations build and maintain professional relationships, and I believe that effective communication with external partners is essential to creating meaningful opportunities for members.
In previous leadership roles, including managing sponsorship and coordination for a student initiative, I worked closely with different stakeholders and helped organise outreach efforts to support events and projects. These experiences strengthened my organisational skills and taught me the importance of professionalism and reliability when representing an organisation. As Director of Client Relations, I would focus on maintaining strong relationships with firms and external partners, ensuring clear communication and helping expand collaborations that benefit members of the society, creating lasting opportunities for members.

Ultimately, I am standing because I would value the opportunity to contribute to the EFS's professional network and help strengthen the connections that make it such a respected organisation at UCL.
