Ani Sukiasyan

I am standing because I care deeply about the direction and identity of the UCL Armenian Society. I want it to remain grounded in our history, language, and traditions while looking confidently to the future. Having grown up in Armenia and now studying law in London, I understand different perspectives within our community and the importance of bringing them together. My goal is to build a Society that feels both culturally rooted and intellectually dynamic.

I bring leadership and responsibility. I was class representative during the final two years of high school, acting as a bridge between students and administration at a crucial academic stage. That experience taught me how to listen carefully and represent others fairly. Throughout my time studying law at UCL, I have developed clear thinking, persuasive argumentation, and the discipline to follow through on commitments.

As President, I will prioritise meaningful cultural events, intellectually engaging discussions, and stronger alumni connections. I want members to feel genuinely involved in shaping what we do and proud to belong to a Society that is active, respected and ambitious.

Celebrate our heritage. Strive for excellence.

Sofi Vanyan

Serving as Welfare Officer for the Armenian Society this year has been one of the most meaningful parts of my university experience. Through working closely with the committee and engaging with members at our events, I have come to truly value the sense of community defining our society. What makes Armenian culture so special to me is the way we naturally support one another, whether through friendship, mentorship, or simply bringing people together. I would be honoured to continue contributing to that community as President.

If elected, my goal would be to build on the strong foundation the society already has while creating new opportunities for members to connect with each other both socially and professionally. I would like to organise more structured networking opportunities, including events that connect students with young Armenian professionals. These conversations can be valuable for students who are exploring career paths and looking for guidance from people sharing similar backgrounds. I would also aim to organise more mixer-style events that encourage members to meet new people within the society and strengthen the welcoming, close-knit atmosphere.

Having already served on the committee, I understand the work that goes into running the society and the importance of maintaining a supportive environment. I care deeply about this community and would be proud to help it continue to grow, bringing people together through cultural celebration and meaningful connections.
